Considering I only have an 8bg ipod at the moment I think i'm pretty straight to have the gucci mane discography in it's entirety mixtapes, albums & features.
( *note, The contents of my ipod does not reflect my entire music library, as i am skint as fuck, and could only afford an 8gb model from a pawn shop, i could list other artists but to be quite honest listing the entire gucci discography kind of wore me out. x love polo. )
To my point,
I feel as if this subsection of hip hop is looked over as a complete joke in other parts of the world,
of course these guys don't take themselves seriously when it comes to their lyrical ability,
but they admit to that. The recent discovery and consistent lurking of datpiff has lead me to believe that australia has a warped and un-appreciative view of these lesser known, less lyrical mc's.
we are missing out on a ridiculous amount of REAL hip hop, these guys don't talk shit,
they can back up what they're rhyming about,
and it's music made for a certain niche of people,
and I feel as if the hipster community (for lack of better words) is exploiting this genre and taking it as a joke,
it isn't a fucking joke,

in conclusion,
your definition of real hip hop is a false definition,
if you're looking for lyricism you know where to find it,
don't exploit the hood.

It is merely addressing the ignorant bunch of people who lack respect or knowledge about the mixtape generation of rappers, I completely understand if this kind of music "just isn't your thing" ;
but don't come and ruin it by making some horrible EDM version of it and selling it off to people who have no idea where or who it came from, these guys are or have been real shooters, real dealers etc. and to make it in that genre of music takes a level of respect from the street, me being a white, australian, male, I understand i don't really have a place or complete understanding, but theres to many people thinking these guys are just a bunch of idiots with fruity loops and a mic, so to everyone who has ever said they liked flocka because they heard hard in the paint or said they liked gucci because they heard gucci bandana, go on datpiff, stop listening to flosstradamus and download some ATL compilations.
